Enjoy our quiet yet central Port Douglas location in Macrossan Street where you are just minutes away from the Port Douglas dining and entertainment precinct, and even closer to the famous Four Mile Beach which is only 60 metres away.

Conveniently, the marathon starts with the length of beautiful Four Mile Beach. The course provides a very good whistlestop tour of the Port Douglas area with the Four Mile Beach run preceding a six kilometre stretch through the Mowbray Valley. At the end of the Mowbray Valley is the Mowbray River at Diggers Bridge, also known as Crocodile Creek for obvious reasons. The remainder of the course takes you through and past some of the most picturesque scenery that the area has to offer with trails through the Daintree Forest and sugarcane fields. You will loop back and be on Four Mile Beach again on the home stretch, with a few more miles, less if you are counting metric miles, finishing on the Port Douglas Esplanade.

Post race you can relax beside our elegant heated 15 metre swimming pool that is set among lush tropical plantings, or wind down with a trip to the Daintree National Park, or the Great Barrier Reef. Find out where all the proceeds of the Great Barrier Reef Marathon are going. After finishing the marathon—a reward and accomplishment in itself, the prize
