Port Douglas Carnivale
Port Douglas Carnivale 2010 is a huge success
Saturday, May 29th, 2010A week in paradise with Reflections Port Douglas Resort
Saturday, May 29th, 2010This was our third visit to Port Douglas, but a first (and hopefully not the last) at Reflections. It is a small complex within a stones throw of 4 Mile Beach (we needed those daily walks), Macrossan Street shops and the Port’s great restaurants. We found our two bedroom apartment (No.8) very comfortable, roomy, exceptionally well equipped, very clean – all in all great value for money. The pool and gardens are well maintained. Suffice to say Reflections is an easy and comfortable place to stay and we look forward to another visit around the same time in a few years. We visited the last week of April when Port Douglas was not too crowded and the weather warm with some light rain.

Don`t forget to book your Port Douglas Carnivale Accommodation early
Now 18 years old and recognised as one of the regions principal events, Carnivale has grown from a street fiesta to a broad and diverse program which involves the entire community. Managed by the Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce, Carnivale aims to give locals a chance to celebrate the end of the wet season and the beginning of the busy tourist season, while encouraging regional, national and international visitors to visit and take part in the jocular festivities.
Port Douglas is just an hour’s drive from Cairns via a spectacular coastal road that is surrounded by forest and the Coral Sea and is the proud home to dozens of national award winning restaurants and resorts. It is the only place on Earth where two World heritage listed jewels exist; the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest of Daintree and Cape Tribulation. With the seductive May climate, balmy cloudless blue sky days dissolve into tropical evenings with velvet starry skies, giving Carnivale-goers the perfect opportunity to enjoy “A Taste of Paradise”.
