Ever wanted to swim with Minke Whales?

August 31st, 2010

Port Douglas is an awesome place and this time of the year offers an experience that only a small minority have ever had the chance to experience. Swimming with Minke Whales!

Poseidon, a local company that holds one of only three permits issued to day boats by the marine park managers, GBRMPA, allowing passengers to deliberately swim with these curious and friendly whales that grow to 8 meters in length. These curious creatures satisfy their own curiosity and come up to the swimmers who number no more than 10 and are sent out on a floating line once the whales have been spotted.  There have been some amazing encounters this year and though not guaranteed are more frequent during the winter months.

With Spring almost upon us, you will have to hurry to get up close and personal with these curious creatures.  The warmer months also sees the magestic Humpback Whales entering our waters and encounters with these animals are magical as well with them giving us displays of breaching, tail and pectoral fin slapping.

Come to Port Douglas, experience these magestic creatures for yourself and enjoy great Port Douglas accommodation at the same time at Reflections of PD.

WOW, What a Great Holiday!

August 12th, 2010

We stayed at Reflections Port Douglas for 8 nights in July 2010 Carmel & John couldn`t have been more friendly or helpfull. Our apartment was clean comfortable and spacious with the king size bed very comfy. The fully equiped kitchen made it a breeze to eat in if you so wished with the bbq down at the pool kept clean and in good condition. The location was superb only 2 min walk to 4 mile beach and not not much more to all shops and restaraunts. The main highlight was the heated pool our kids were in it every day!

We would certainly recomend Reflections to families with children .

Thank you Carmel & John we will be back soon.

Excellent welcome and great facilities at Reflections of Port Douglas

June 10th, 2010

We stayed with our daughter, son in law and two infant sons for five nights in a spacious three bedroom apartment . Carmel welcomed us to the complex and ensured we had everything we needed.

The Holiday Apartment was very well equipped with little extras like olive oil and lots of informative leaflets and books to make the most of our stay. Carmel also advised on a super trip to the Outer reef which she booked for us.

We would recommend this Port Douglas Holiday Accommodaiton complex to anyone and hope to return if we are lucky enough to be back in Port Douglas.

Thank you for great Holiday

We recently stayed at Reflections and thought it was fantastic

June 10th, 2010

We recently stayed at Reflections and thought it was fantastic. The apartments were luxurious, spacious and very clean! The location was fantastic – short walk to the restaurants and shops. Very close to the beach. The pool had a great wading area for our 2 year old daughter. Carmel was a wonderful help when it came to recommending day trips and restaurants. We look forward to going back!

A week in paradise with Reflections Port Douglas Resort

May 29th, 2010

This was our third visit to Port Douglas, but a first (and hopefully not the last) at Reflections. It is a small complex within a stones throw of 4 Mile Beach (we needed those daily walks), Macrossan Street shops and the Port’s great restaurants. We found our two bedroom apartment (No.8) very comfortable, roomy, exceptionally well equipped, very clean – all in all great value for money. The pool and gardens are well maintained. Suffice to say Reflections is an easy and comfortable place to stay and we look forward to another visit around the same time in a few years. We visited the last week of April when Port Douglas was not too crowded and the weather warm with some light rain.
