Port Douglas is an awesome place and this time of the year offers an experience that only a small minority have ever had the chance to experience. Swimming with Minke Whales!
Poseidon, a local company that holds one of only three permits issued to day boats by the marine park managers, GBRMPA, allowing passengers to deliberately swim with these curious and friendly whales that grow to 8 meters in length. These curious creatures satisfy their own curiosity and come up to the swimmers who number no more than 10 and are sent out on a floating line once the whales have been spotted. There have been some amazing encounters this year and though not guaranteed are more frequent during the winter months.
With Spring almost upon us, you will have to hurry to get up close and personal with these curious creatures. The warmer months also sees the magestic Humpback Whales entering our waters and encounters with these animals are magical as well with them giving us displays of breaching, tail and pectoral fin slapping.
Come to Port Douglas, experience these magestic creatures for yourself and enjoy great Port Douglas accommodation at the same time at Reflections of PD.

We stayed at Reflections Port Douglas for 8 nights in July 2010 Carmel & John couldn`t have been more friendly or helpfull. Our apartment was clean comfortable and spacious with the king size bed very comfy. The fully equiped kitchen made it a breeze to eat in if you so wished with the bbq down at the pool kept clean and in good condition. The location was superb only 2 min walk to 4 mile beach and not not much more to all shops and restaraunts. The main highlight was the heated pool our kids were in it every day!
We would certainly recomend Reflections to families with children .
Thank you Carmel & John we will be back soon.

We stayed with our daughter, son in law and two infant sons for five nights in a spacious three bedroom apartment . Carmel welcomed us to the complex and ensured we had everything we needed.
The Holiday Apartment was very well equipped with little extras like olive oil and lots of informative leaflets and books to make the most of our stay. Carmel also advised on a super trip to the Outer reef which she booked for us.
We would recommend this Port Douglas Holiday Accommodaiton complex to anyone and hope to return if we are lucky enough to be back in Port Douglas.
Thank you for great Holiday

We recently stayed at Reflections and thought it was fantastic. The apartments were luxurious, spacious and very clean! The location was fantastic – short walk to the restaurants and shops. Very close to the beach. The pool had a great wading area for our 2 year old daughter. Carmel was a wonderful help when it came to recommending day trips and restaurants. We look forward to going back!

Families filled 4 mile beach today with the perfect 30 degrees weather and water crystal clear celebrating the end of the stinger season.

This was our third visit to Port Douglas, but a first (and hopefully not the last) at Reflections. It is a small complex within a stones throw of 4 Mile Beach (we needed those daily walks), Macrossan Street shops and the Port’s great restaurants. We found our two bedroom apartment (No.8) very comfortable, roomy, exceptionally well equipped, very clean – all in all great value for money. The pool and gardens are well maintained. Suffice to say Reflections is an easy and comfortable place to stay and we look forward to another visit around the same time in a few years. We visited the last week of April when Port Douglas was not too crowded and the weather warm with some light rain.

We highly recommend a stay at Reflections of Port Douglas, right in the heart of Port Douglas in Macrossan Street.
Our hosts Carmel and John were most generous with their time & effort to give us the most
wonderful holiday and experience we could ever have had in Queensland.
Our apartment was immaculate, we so appreciated our upgrade.
We felt we were in our own blissful Oasis, surrounded by Palm tree’s with the Ocean lapping on four mile beach just metres away.
A huge bonus for clients staying at Reflections is the free on site excellent booking service offered here, which caters for your every need.
The tours booked and recommended by Carmel were first class, nothing was ever too much trouble.
We highly recommend a stay with Carmel and John at Reflections of Port Douglas Luxury Holiday Apartments.
We will be back.

We stayed Reflections Port Douglas Holiday Apartments in a 2 bedroom apartment with our 16 months old daughter and was very pleasantly surprised by the apartment (clean, large and had all the equipment you could need) and the location (50 meters to four mile beach and at the quiet end of the main street). We were able to hire a high chair and a cot, which made our trip so much easier. We originally booked for 7 nights, but liked it so much we stayed another 2 nights. The ‘stand in’ hosts (Enid and Kevin) were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Great value for money.

Stayed for 3 nights over Easter 2009 (sorry, late with my review). Carmel was a superb host, always helpful with advice, tips. The unit was roomy, clean and relaxing. Walk easily to everthing, beach and cafe/restaurants in Macrossan st. Pool clean but small so not as inviting as a resort style pool.Really nothing but positive experience here.

We stayed at Reflections for 4 days in early November. It was our favorite accommodation on our month-long trip to Au and NZ. Carmel is a one-of-a-kind hostess, going out of her way to make you feel at home. She and her staff are very willing to give you advice on all local attractions and will also help make reservations. Carmel corresponded with us via email several times to give us local travel advice, even before we booked our room. She was kind enough to greet us at the curb the day we arrived, and she walked us out to the car when we left.
The units themselves are pristine – very clean, large and well appointed. The location is perfect – right adjacent to the beach and less than a block to walk into town.
We highly recommend Reflections – wish we could give it more than 5 stars!

My husband and I stayed here on the last leg of our honeymoon, we stayed in a two bedroom appartment. The appartment was spacious, very clean, and well equiped. You have a choice for swimming; either the beach (which is 1 min walk away) or the lovely pool in the gardens. Carmel and John were fantastic hosts and were there to meet us on arrival, nothing seemed to much trouble for them and they made our stay all the more special. Both are very knowledgable on the hundreds of local trips, I would definitely recomend their advice. The location was excellent, the beach 50m away and the shops / restaurants the same the opposite way. We found this a very relaxing place with a lovely calm atmosphere; which is sometimes lacking in the bigger resorts. Port Douglas was simply one of the best ‘resorts’, its unspolit by the national chains and retains its own natural identity. We would have no hesitation in returnng one day.

We recently spent 9 nights at Reflections of Port Douglas (Dec 13th -22nd) and could not rate it high enough. Carmel and John are magnificent hosts and nothing was too much to ask of Carmel. All day trips, shuttle services and restaurant bookings were made by Carmel and based on her excellent advice. The 3 bedroom apartment we had was spacious, clean and had all required amenities. Our 16 and 13 year old kids loved the space and spent much time on the balcony overlooking the pool and talking to friends via the available wireless internet. The local restaurants and cafes are very well priced with fantastic service and great coffee :). The Beach Shack and Salsa are a must.
We miss our early morning and late evening walks along the warm water beach and are already talking about when we could get back to Reflections.

Port Douglas is just an hour’s drive from Cairns via a spectacular coastal road that is surrounded by forest and the Coral Sea and is the proud home to dozens of national award winning restaurants and resorts. It is the only place on Earth where two World heritage listed jewels exist; the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest of Daintree and Cape Tribulation. We stayed for five nights during the humid wet season and found the accomodation to be very comfortable but most importantly – cool and dry! The kitchen is well equipped for cooking but we spent our evenings dining at different restaurants in town (just down the street). We were blown away by Nautilus Restaurant. We had a side unit with a great garden view. We were out on excursions every day or walking 4 mile beach. The managers were friendly and helpful with all requests (went out of their way for a conference call). The location was perfect!
